Moussa Niakhaté (30) will miss Olympique Lyonnais' game against RC Lens on Friday night, as per a report from L'Équipe .
The defender was forced to withdraw from the Senegal squad for the current international break, as confirmed by the federation on Thursday evening. The defender returned to his club, Lyon, it was quickly confirmed. He played on part in Senegal's win over the Comoros, in Marseille on Sunday.
Niakhaté is a key member of the Lyon team. Despite the club competing on multiple fronts this season, the Senegalese defender is one of the players who is rarely rested. Already this season, he has played eight times in all competitions, including in three UEFA Champions League qualifying games.
Lyon visit Lens on Friday night but Niakhaté will play no part in the encounter due to a hamstring injury, L'Équipeunderstands. The centre-back is also a doubt to face Crystal Palace in the UEFA Europa League the following Thursday (15th October).
