A Night of Emotions in Salt Lake
The Utah Royals fought hard to salvage a point against Racing Louisville on Saturday. Brecken Mozingo scored a late equalizer in stoppage time to make it 1-1. This result spoils the return of Savannah DeMelo for Louisville. DeMelo made her first appearance since she collapsed during a game last season. She had an undiagnosed cardiac arrhythmia that caused her medical emergency on September 14, 2025. Her return was the biggest story of the night for the National Women's Soccer League. Katie O'Kane gave Louisville the lead in the 42nd minute with a penalty kick. The penalty came after video review showed Utah midfielder Madison Hammond fouled Arin Wright. Mozingo then tied the game with a long-range shot to save a point for Utah. Louisville finally snapped a six-match losing streak in this tough draw.
