Every NFL offseason brings predictions about the end of a contender's run. Star players leave, contracts become expensive, and eventually the roster that reached the mountaintop begins to look very different than the one that hoisted a Lombardi Trophy. The Philadelphia Eagles know that well, not being even two years removed from their most recent Super Bowl win. Add to that they they have experienced plenty of that change over the past two years.
Sure, much of the roster is familiar, but as is the case with every NFL squad, known names have departed. New faces have arrived. Still, after unveiling their initial 53-man roster , one reality remains clear. Much of the foundation that helped deliver a championship is still in place.

According to roster data compiled following Sunday's cutdown deadline, 14 of the 22 starters from Philadelphia's Super Bowl-winning team remain on the roster. Eight offensive starters are still in the building, while six defensive starters continue anchoring Vic Fangio's unit.
Maintaining continuity while constantly refreshing a roster is one of the NFL's most difficult balancing acts. General manager Howie Roseman has built a reputation for making difficult decisions before sentiment can interfere with long-term planning.

The Eagles still feature cornerstone players such as Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, Lane Johnson, Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Jalen Carter, Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.

Those players form the backbone of a roster that still carries championship expectations entering 2026, despite the Los Angeles Rams' efforts . The continuity extends beyond the starting lineup. Jake Elliott remains with the organization as one of only two remaining players from the Eagles' Super Bowl LII championship team (Lane Johnson is the other). Elliott's presence serves as a reminder of how much has changed, but it also highlights the consistency Philadelphia has maintained throughout multiple roster cycles.
14 of the Eagles' expected 22 starters from Super Bowl LIX are still on the roster. In an era defined by salary-cap casualties, free-agent departures, and constant roster churn, that's a significant number.
