The most unlikely person imaginable apparently played an indirect role in Monday night's blockbuster Giannis Antetokounmpo trade to the Miami Heat .
According to Yahoo Sports' Kevin O'Connor , sources said Bucks owner Jimmy Haslam "was a driving force" in Milwaukee choosing Miami over the Boston Celtics as a Giannis trade partner . How did he choose?
Well, Haslam apparently didn't want Celtics guard Jaylen Brown asking out of Milwaukee after playing with the franchise for a year. His experiences with an unhappy Antetokounmpo and... yes... the recent trade demands from former Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett... made him lean in Miami's direction.
Haslam is the owner in Cleveland, so the recent blockbuster Garrett trade and that player's issues with the long-suffering NFL franchise apparently played a role in Giannis going to the Heat . Incredible.
That's one of the wildest things we've heard in some time. Garrett got traded to the Los Angeles Rams earlier this month. Now, he plays an indirect role in the other blockbuster June sports trade. What a world.
What does the Bucks' starting lineup look like now?
