The Los Angeles Lakers took down the Toronto Raptors, 131-125, on Sunday to improve to 5-2 on the season. Luka Doncic was sensational once again, as he scored 45 points on 12-of-23 shooting, including 8-of-12 from beyond the 3-point line.
Doncic also tallied 15 rebounds, six assists, five steals and one block, making history in the process as the first NBA player ever to record at least 45 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, five steals and five 3-pointers made in a single game.
While it was another remarkable performance from Doncic and the Lakers, it wasn't without its issues. For one, head coach JJ Redick was assessed a technical foul midway through the fourth quarter.

With 6:27 remaining in the fourth, Doncic attacked the basket and scored on a reverse layup to give L.A. a 111-100 lead. Raptors forward Scottie Barnes appeared to foul him on the play; however, the referees didn't blow the whistle and let play continue.
Redick took issue with the no-call and complained to the officials, prompting the technical foul call.
As a result of the call, Redick is now facing financial penalties from the NBA. The league's rules state that a player or coach's first five technical fouls each carry a $2,000 fine. It was Redick's first tech of the season.
The technical foul limit in the NBA before suspension is 15. Once a player or coach reaches 16 technical fouls, they receive a $5,000 fine and a one-game suspension. Every two additional technical fouls thereafter carry the same punishment.
