NBA Legend Chris Bosh Shares Unfortunate Personal Update After Health Scare
Chris Bosh spent 13 years in the NBA , becoming a two-time champion and an 11-time All-Star. However, off-court health issues wound up cutting his career short. While the former Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors big man made it into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021, he gave up his NBA career in 2019 to save his life.
Unfortunately, it seems Bosh is still dealing with potentially life-threatening health issues. The 41-year-old retired legend took to X and revealed he recently had a scary incident where he woke up covered in his own blood, narrating the incident and his learnings from it to his fans.
"So, I woke up covered in my own blood. It was crazy, it was fast, it was instant; I didn't have any time to prepare for it. I was getting ready to go on a date with my wife, and the next thing I know, I was on the ground."
Bosh then said he wouldn't get into specifics and showed how he still had two black eyes after his fall. He then spoke frankly about his outlook on life, sending a crucial message.
"Make sure you don't wait. Don't wait to take action. It could come fast, it could come quick. I'm lucky to be aliveand I feel great about that. Now, I'm thinking about how to live my day-to-day life. But don't wait."
He then added some details to his experience after blacking out, implying he had to be brought back after 'going into the darkness.'
"I'm lucky I came back. It was just darkness; there was nothing else. I went to the darkness and came back;I have no recollection. I have no memory other than coming back here. So, don't wait."
Bosh's career came to an untimely end in February 2016. After struggling with blood clot issues since 2015, Bosh was forced to stop playing by physicians. He made several attempts to return to the game in the years after his last game, but by 2019 he called it quits on his career and hasn't played basketball in over a decade.
He averaged 19.2 points and 8.5 rebounds over 13 seasons in the NBA. He is best remembered for his iconic rebound and assist to Ray Allen in Game 6 of the 2012 NBA Finals.
Bosh didn't share any details on what was the reason behind this scary health episode. Fans and everyone in the basketball community will be hoping for a speedy recovery for the two-time NBA Champion.
