While Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James and Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard are busy focusing on leading their respective teams in the postseason, Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is heavily pondering his future.
The Bucks are reportedly ready to listen to trade offers anew for Antetokounmpo, who recently cast doubt on his tenure in Milwaukee .
But according to NBA insider Marc Stein, James and Leonard could also jump ship in the summer, which might drastically transform the league's landscape for the next few years.
"There is a growing anticipation in numerous front offices, league sources say, that two or even all three of the above marquee names could land with new teams next season," wrote Stein on his Substack.
"Only James of the trio is poised to become a free agent on June 30, but both Antetokounmpo and Leonard were pursued by rival teams before the February 5 trade deadline and are expected to generate even more external trade interest this summer."
It is wild to even just imagine that the three All-Stars will wear different jerseys next season. James has been linked to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers for a fitting end to his legendary career, while Antetokounmpo and Leonard are both supposedly being eyed by the Golden State Warriors and the Miami Heat .
"Combine those possibilities with one of the most highly awaited June drafts (and May draft lotteries) in league history—as well as the prospect of considerable coaching turnover—and you can understand why the NBA's summer forecast already reads busy," added Stein.
Stranger things have happened in the NBA . If Stein's bold report is proven to be true, it would cause a seismic shift in the league.
James, Antetokounmpo, and Leonard have a combined seven championships, six MVPs, 36 All-NBA Team selections, 18 All-Defensive Team nods, and 39 All-Star Game appearances.
In the meantime, the Lakers will face the Houston Rockets in the first round of the playoffs, while the Clippers will battle the Golden State Warriors in the Play-In Tournament.
