Nets' Danny Wolf discusses improving his game this offseason
NEW YORK -- Brooklyn Nets forward Danny Wolf is heading into his second year in the NBA and is currently in a position to have more put onto his plate in the midst of this rebuild. Brooklyn is relying on second-year players like Wolf to be better than they were during their rookie years and he explained how he has tried to improve his game this summer.
"Yeah, I think when you look at the summer, you obviously want to improve your entire game; but there's definitely a few things, especially early on, that you really want to focus on," Wolf said to the media after summer league practice in Tuesday. Wolf, along with second-year players in Egor Demin, Drake Powell, and Ben Saraf, will be participating in both summer leagues this year and they'll be looking to show off what they've been working on.

"I'd say some of the things, starting with my body getting stronger or getting quicker, getting my ankle right. Just even playing now, I've never felt more in control or on balance or stronger," Wolf continued. "And then with that, I would say my finishing. And then just my three point consistency. And I think I'm shooting the best I've shot it, and I feel like I'm finishing the best I've finished."
Wolf, 22 , is coming off a solid rookie season as he averaged 8.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 40.5% from the field and 32.3% from behind the three-point line. Wolf spent the majority of this past season as the backup power forward to Noah Clowney while also seeing some minutes at center when Nic Claxton and Day'Ron Sharpe were out of the game.
Now that Claxton has been traded to the Chicago Bulls in the deal that brought Minnesota Timberwolves forward Julius Randle to Brooklyn, Wolf could be seeing even more time at the center spot. Time will tell whether Wolf is better suited at center or power forward, but he sounds like he's looking forward to seeing how he looks at either spot over the course of the California Classic and the Las Vegas Summer League.
