The Brooklyn Nets will be without one of their top rookies from last season at this year's NBA Summer League. Nolan Traore recently underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and will not play in Sacramento or Las Vegas, general manager Sean Marks announced on Monday.

"Nolan just had a scope on his right knee, so he will not be in summer league, but he is expected to be a full return for training camp in early September, so he won't miss much time," Marks said. "He had a little bit of (soreness) dating back to the season, so now he decided the best thing is to get this scoped and get this taken care of."
Traore emerged as the Nets' starting point guard during the second half of last season after opening the year primarily in the G League.

The No. 19 pick averaged 8.9 points on .380/.318/.787 shooting splits with 3.8 assists and 2.3 turnovers per game (1.65 ast/to) across 56 appearances with 31 starts. Traore averaged 12.9 points and 5.2 assists on .451/.388/.765 shooting splits during a 15-game stretch spanning February to early March.

All of Brooklyn's other rookies from last season — Egor Demin , Drake Powell, Ben Saraf and Danny Wolf — will be available for Summer League.
Meanwhile, No. 6 pick Mikel Brown Jr. and No. 43 pick Tyler Bilodeau have no injury restrictions as the Nets begin Summer League practice on Tuesday.
No. 28 pick Joshua Jefferson cannot play with Brooklyn's Summer League team until the Julius Randle trade is finalized on July 6. He will not be available for the California Classic in Sacramento on July 4-6.
Jefferson is expected to play in Las Vegas.
