With the NFL changing and expanding their presence across the globe, Antonio Brown believes there is one market that has been greatly underserved.
So far this season, the NFL has hosted games in Australia, Brazil, England, and France, with games in Germany, Spain, and Mexico still remaining.
With nine international games in a season, the most in history, it is clear the NFL are prioritising taking the game to parts of the world where there is an active and growing fanbase.
Antonio Brown laments NFL not hosting a game in Hawaii
Taking to X during the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New Orleans Saints game from Paris, Antonio Brown pointed out a disappointing fact about the NFL.
He noted that while the NFL is making a massive push to try and expand the sport to other countries, they have yet to host a game in Hawaii, which is a huge shame.
"The fact that the NFL can bring football to nearly every corner of the earth but there's never been a regular season game in Hawaii is a d*** shame."
The NFL has considered hosting a game in Hawaii, but there are major logistical issues standing in the way of making that happen.
For starters, Hawaii, despite being a popular tourist destination, is fairly isolated from the rest of the United States, and will not be able to draw the kind of audience the league is used to domestically and internationally.
Secondly, the lack of an NFL-calibre stadium to host a game. Aloha Stadium hosted the Pro Bowl game several times until 2016, but since then, faced major issues, including condemnation and demolition.
If the NFL ever wants to return to Hawaii, they will need to find a stadium and the facilities to host a game. Perhaps they could help finance the construction of these facilities and hope that the investment pays off for them in the long run.
