- Newcastle have just made a baffling 'decision' that will spark anger at the club
Newcastle United have endured a mixed start to the campaign, and the 4-1 defeat to Coventry City is just the latest piece of evidence.
The 2026-27 season was always going to be difficult after losing several big-name stars, such as Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes.

Amar Dedic, Lukas Hornicek and Sean Steur have looked good in small bursts, but the lack of experience in the squad has started to show in recent weeks.
With Dan Burn and Joelinton sidelined, the likes of Yoane Wissa and Lewis Hall have been forced to step up and lead by example at St James' Park.
One player who is vastly more experienced than anyone else is Jacob Murphy, but against Coventry, he was one of the worst on the pitch.
Supporters have accused the 31-year-old winger of pulling the wool over Matthias Jaissle's eyes, as he continues to start on the right flank.

Many were excited about the prospect of him leaving during the summer, only for Newcastle to turn down two bids from Nottingham Forest.
One of the offers was believed to be £15million, an outrageous amount of money for an attacker who hasn't hit the back of the net since February.
Right now, his contract is set to expire at the end of the 2026-27 campaign, but it looks as though that is about to change in some rather baffling news.
According to the Daily Mail (14 October), the Magpies have accelerated talks with the veteran, with Murphy now close to a 12-month extension.
While it is understood that Newcastle want to preserve his value with a new contract, PIF will be lucky if he's worth anything by the end of the season.

Newcastle fans have already made their feelings clear about Jaissle starting Murphy, and they're only going to implode over the news of a new deal.

Newcastle did a lot of their offloading during the summer window, with the average age of the squad being reduced significantly before the new season.
However, there are some players still floating around at St James' Park, ones that need to find new homes either in January or next summer.

Nick Pope has definitely run his race for the Magpies, and he should probably be joined through the exit doors by 34-year-old Fabian Schar.
There is every chance that Joelinton secures a move, likely to Saudi Arabia, in the next 12 months, and he would be easily replaced in the midfield.
