Jadarian Price has not had the rookie season he probably imagined having. The former Notre Dame star was a first-round pick in 2026, and he was expected to take over the Seahawks' backfield immediately.
Instead, Price began wildly inconsistent and got benched in his third game . Then, the rookie suffered an injury and missed the next several games. Price came back in time for Monday Night Football in Week 8, with the hope being that the time off would help him reset.
Instead, Price struggled again, ending with 29 yards on 10 carries. Pro Football Focus released its rookie grades after Week 8, and it's not looking good for Price.

Dalton Wasserman of PFF gave each first-round rookie a grade and revealed where they rank among the other rookies at their respective positions.
So far, Price has a 53.0 overall grade , which ranks 11th out of 11 qualified rookie running backs. The running back earned a 55.1 grade in Week 8, which is slightly better than his average, but nowhere close to good enough.
Yes, Price missed several games already, which puts him in a hole. However, it still looks bad when a first-round running back looks this underwhelming. Jeremiyah Love, the only other first-round running back, and Price's college teammate, has looked much better , and has a 67.2 overall PFF grade.
In four games, Price has rushed 38 times for 148 yards, with no touchdowns and two fumbles lost. Kenneth Walker III, meanwhile, who the Seahawks were hoping Price could replace, looks like one of the best running backs in the league for the Chiefs.
There's still plenty of time for Price to figure it out, but it's hard to imagine a worse start for the rookie. The good news is, the Seahawks play the Cardinals next week, who are allowing over 122 rushing yards per game. Price just needs one good game to feel good about and hopefully boost his confidence.
