NFL.com projections suggest Broncos landed 3 steals in the draft
Some fans and pundits believe the Denver Broncos got a steal when they picked Washington running back Jonah Coleman in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL draft last week.
The fourth round was exactly where NFL.com's Lance Zierlein projected Coleman to land, however, so it wasn't a huge shock when he was available for the Broncos when they went on the clock in Round 4.
That said, Denver may have landed three other steals in the draft, judging from Zierlein's projections.
Going into the draft, Zierlein had NC State tight end Justin Joly ranked as a fourth-round prospect, Utah tight end Dallen Bentley as a fifth-round prospect and Buffalo linebacker Red Murdock as a sixth-round prospect. The Broncos ended up landing Joly in the fifth round and Bentley and Murdock in the seventh round .
Granted, Zierlein is just one draft pundit, but if you put any stock in his draft rankings, Denver appears to have landed three nice value picks in the back half of the draft. Now it's up to those players to make the most of their opportunities.
