George Pickens and the Dallas Cowboys were victorious over Dan Quinn and the Washington Commanders on Sunday, bringing the Cowboys to .500 (1-1) and putting Washington in last place in the NFC East (0-2). Quarterback Jayden Daniels was carted off with a dislocated left elbow right before halftime, forcing backup Marcus Mariota into action.
Both Commanders quarterbacks completed 11 passes for a passing touchdown, with Daniels adding 69 yards on the ground. The story of the game was the Dallas Cowboys offense, with Dak Prescott completing an efficient 26-of-31 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns. Tight end Jake Ferguson and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb caught two of the touchdown receptions, tying Commanders wide receiver Stefon Diggs for the game high.

Wide receiver Lamb looked back to his old self, standing alone with game highs in the other two receiving triple-crown categories, with the All-Pro catching eight passes for 153 yards. Dallas' other All-Pro wide receiver, George Pickens, had a solid outing with his six receptions and 40 yards. The Cowboys offense seemed unstoppable, and it seems that a Washington player took it out on Pickens during the game.
With 10:13 remaining in the second quarter, with Dallas head coach Brian Schottenheimer looking to increase its 10-3 lead, Pickens was rocked by Washington All-Pro safety Jeremy Reaves as he caught a pass from Prescott. The 6-foot-3 wide receiver showed tremendous balance during the helmet-to-helmet hit by retaining possession.
According to the NFL's accountability enforcement for fines and appeals, there are two fines that Reaves could be liable to pay: Impermissible Use of the Helmet/Launching, which runs $23,882 for a first-time offense and $47,762 for a second, and Hit on a Defenseless Player, which costs $17,911 on a first offense and $23,882 on a second.
Dallas will host the Baltimore Ravens at AT&T Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 4:25 p.m. ET, with coverage on CBS.
