- NFL Fans React to Joey Bosa 49ers Rumors
Could Nick and Joey Bosa finally suit up on the same sideline? This might be the year it actually happens. The San Francisco 49ers have already made a splash in NFL free agency, locking up future Hall of Fame wideout Mike Evans on a three-year deal . They've added some depth pieces as well, but there's still work to be done—especially on defense.
One spot that suddenly looks thin is edge rusher. With Bryce Huff calling it a career this week, the position opposite Nick Bosa took a hit. So why not keep it in the family ? Joey Bosa is still sitting on the free-agent market.

There's a reason teams have been hesitant, though—availability. Injuries have been a constant hurdle, and Bosa has never made it through a full 17-game NFL season in his career.

NFL rumors lit up X this week with buzz building around Joey Bosa potentially signing with the 49ers. Naturally, NFL fans didn't waste any time jumping into the conversation.
One fan immediately questioned whether the reunion would even happen this season, writing, "Isn't Nick on IR?"
Another dropped a savage take, "Wow! Now there will be enough Bosa combined to play a full 17 games!"

An Eagles fan chimed in with relief: "Excellent because I certainly didn't want him in Philadelphia."
Meanwhile, another fan loved the idea of the reunion, posting, "The league really let the San Francisco 49ers reunite the Bosa brothers… good luck to every offensive line."
And of course, someone brought the reality check: "LOL! It won't matter they will both take turns being hurt or will just be hurt and on the IR together! LOL"
From a financial standpoint, the move isn't out of the question. San Francisco still has some room to maneuver under the salary cap, especially after restructuring Nick Bosa 's contract earlier this offseason. The adjustment reportedly freed up about $17.2 million in cap space for the 2026 season, giving the front office enough breathing room to at least explore a Bosa deal.

That cap flexibility is one of the main reasons analysts believe a Bosa brothers reunion in the Bay Area could actually become a reality.
Still, there's a major reason Joey remains on the market: durability. Recurring hamstring issues have followed him in recent seasons, and that injury history may be why several teams have been hesitant to pull the trigger in free agency.
If it does happen, it would also be a rare NFL moment. Despite the league's long history, it's uncommon to see two brothers suit up for the same team. One of the most recent examples came in 2020, when T.J. Watt and Derek Watt shared the field with the Pittsburgh Steelers .
