NFL fines 49ers' Dre Greenlaw for unnecessary roughness vs Drake London, Falcons originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
The 49ers' seventh game of the season cost them their first loss, and also cost a few players some dollar signs.
San Francisco linebacker Dre Greenlaw , who returned after serving a one-game suspension for unsportsmanlike conduct against the Seattle Seahawks, was fined $12,537 for unnecessary roughness in the Week 7 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
The play came when Greenlaw punched Drake London 's helmet while attempting to punch out the ball.
This is Greenlaw's second fine of the 2026 season. The linebacker was fined for taunting earlier this season after repeatedly exchanging words with the Denver Broncos' sideline and coach Sean Payton after Denver released him earlier this year.
He now has been fined a total of $24,478 so far this season.
And Greenlaw wasn't the only 49ers player to get fined in Atlanta.
Second-year running back Jordan James was fined $6,194 for unnecessary roughness (use of helmet) against the Falcons.
The 49ers have a week off before hosting the Las Vegas Raiders on Nov. 8 at Levi's Stadium, where they hope to play a much cleaner game and get back in the win column.
