NFL Free Agency: 4 targets Ravens could sign to replace Chidobe Awuzie

This is why we don't have the luxury of blinking in the NFL or with this Baltimore Ravens team. Things change swiftly. There's a new coaching staff, and get this. The secondary will look much different than it did last season.

Alohi Gilman and Ar'Darius Washington are both impending Ravens free agents at the safety position. Jaire Alexander ? He certainly wasn't here long, was he?

The way things are going, there are no guarantees that Marlon Humphrey will be on Baltimore's 2026 active roster , and how about Chidobe Awuzie ? The one-year contract he signed on March 25, 2025, expires when the new league year begins.

For the most part, he has been solid, but he isn't one of the Ravens' top offseason priorities. Might they re-sign him or replace him? Here are some early potential free-agent targets if the option is Baltimore's decision.

Nahshon Wright Chicago Bears

This is a big dude. Nahshon Wright stands at six-foot-four and weighs in at 199 pounds. With that frame, he makes it tough for any opposing quarterback who's trying to fit the ball in somewhere.

He earned a Pro Bowl nod as an alternate this season after Quinyon Mitchell withdrew from the proceedings. He's a former third-round selection (2021) coming off, perhaps, his best season.

Joshua Williams,  Kansas City Chiefs

Joshua Williams doesn't have much starting experience (12 starts in 65 games), and he hasn't intercepted a pass since his rookie season in 2022. He has, however, shown potential when called upon. Might an expanded role introduce us to one of the game's bright young talents at the cornerback position?

Roger McCreary Los Angeles Rams

He hasn't played an entire season since his rookie campaign in 2022. He didn't start a game once traded to the Los Angeles Rams this season, but it's easy to see him competing for a Ravens starting role opposite Nate Wiggins if Baltimore is interested in at least exploring the idea.

Tariq Woolen Seattle Seahawks

He's a former Defensive Rookie of the Year finalist (2022) and a member of that year's Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team, but he's tumbled down the Seahawks depth chart. Who's in the mood for a potential Jesse Minter and Mike Mickens reclamation project?

Worth mentioning:

This list figures to grow over the coming days, but hopefully, despite the uncertainty, this provides everyone reading with good news. We're probably drifting toward changes in the secondary, but Baltimore will have options if it explores free agency.
