Detroit's game against Miami is still scheduled for 1 p.m. ET, but a reported network change means Lions fans may need to look somewhere different on game day.
The NFL has made a minor but important change to the Detroit Lions schedule. The Lions' game against the Miami Dolphins on Nov. 8 is no longer on Fox. It has moved to CBS.
The date and kickoff time stay the same. Detroit and Miami are still set for 1 p.m. ET on Nov. 8. The only thing changing is where you'll find the game on your TV.
Miami Herald Dolphins beat writer Barry Jackson reported the network change. It's not a schedule shakeup, and nobody is moving the game to prime time or flexing it to a different slot. It's just a network swap.
Still, it's the kind of detail that can trip you up on game day.
Look, this isn't the biggest news of the week. But it's worth knowing about.
A lot of Lions fans have a routine. You know what channel the game is on, you know when to turn it on, and you plan your Sunday around it. Detroit fans are used to seeing a lot of their games on Fox. If you flip to Fox at 1 p.m. on Nov. 8 expecting to see the Lions and Dolphins, you're going to be confused for a minute.
So if you're one of those people who likes to be on top of everything and keeps the schedule marked down, now's the time to update it. The same goes for anyone who sets a DVR recording ahead of time or plans a watch party with friends. Make sure you're pointed at the right channel.
What does that mean for you? Not much in terms of planning, other than a quick adjustment.
The Lions versus Dolphins game is still happening at the same time on the same day. Miami is still the opponent. The only change is the network, and the game will now air on CBS instead of Fox.
It's a small tweak, but a tweak worth knowing about. Adjust your schedule accordingly, and you won't miss a snap when Detroit takes on the Dolphins.
