NFL scouts reportedly 'salivating' over Oklahoma WR's speed

The 2026 NFL Scouting Combine has come and gone, and the Oklahoma Sooners were well-represented by the 10 players they sent to Indianapolis. However, despite the OU players eligible for the 2026 draft interviewing and testing well, there are apparently NFL folks who are already excited about a player that will be in Norman this season.

CBS Sports' Brad Crawford tried to identify the players who will be the fastest in college football in 2026, and who can star in the 2027 NFL combine. He included Oklahoma wide receiver Isaiah Sategna III as the No. 7 player in his rankings, and he's evidently not the only one who likes Sategna's blazing speed.

NFL scouts and talent evaluators are already salivating over Sategna's speed on the outside. After transferring from Arkansas to Oklahoma after the 2024 season, Sategna quickly became fellow transfer John Mateer's go-to target in the passing game after catching 67 passes for 965 yards and eight touchdowns. When the Sooners needed a big play or third-down bailout, Sategna's number was called. Nearly half of those trips to the end zone came via explosives, including an 87-yard score against Missouri and a 76-yarder against Ole Miss. Oklahoma running back Xavier Robinson may challenge Sategna this season for the team's top speed honors. - Brad Crawford, CBS Sports.

Sategna was OU's best wideout by a wide margin in 2025, and his return for one more year is a big one for the Sooners in 2026. While Oklahoma added Trell Harris and Parker Livingstone in the transfer portal to help boost the aerial attack, there's no doubt that Mateer and OC Ben Arbuckle will still be leaning on Sategna heavily, especially early in the season.

Speed kills, and Sategna has speed to burn. Apparently, NFL scouts and evaluators already like what they see out of Sategna's game, and the Sooners are lucky to have him back in Norman in 2025.
