INDIANAPOLIS — Kickers do not have to worry about the NFL's on-field code of conduct unless a rusher on the other team gets a little too rough with a block attempt.
ButColtskickerSpencer Shradernow finds himself dealing with a letter from the NFL that usually ends up in a different locker.

Shrader was fined $7,639 for tripping on the first play of Sunday's 16-10 loss to Minnesota, making him the first kicker fined for any infraction in 2026.
Minnesota returner Myles Price nearly returned the first play of Sunday's game for a touchdown, and as he raced down the right side, Shrader got into position to make the tackle, saw Price start to cut and made a slight movement with his foot in the direction of Price.
Shrader's effort took Price to the ground. No flag was thrown on the play.

The NFL's code of on-field conduct reviews every play, though, and Shrader was fined for trying to get his foot in the way of Price. Shrader, a soccer player for most of his life, has not tackled much, although he does have three tackles on the 2026 season so far.

Shrader's fine adds to a day that was rough already; theColts' breakout kicker missed his first two field goals of the season in a game Indianapolis had to have.
Shrader was not the only Colt who was fined on Sunday.
Colts cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt was fined $7,791 for using his helmet on a first-quarter tackle. Taylor-Britt, who suffered a groin injury later in the game, has been fined once before this season. Repeated fines in a single season can escalate a player's fines, although Taylor-Britt is now on injured reserve for the foreseeable future.
Taylor-Britt was also fined for a play on Price.

Indianapolis gunner Ashton Dulin reached Price almost simultaneously with the ball on a Rigoberto Sanchez punt in the first quarter, spun him around and Taylor-Britt crushed Price, leading to a fine. Taylor-Britt was not fined on the play.
