Never mind waves. The Carolina Panthers have just sent a tsunami through the NFL landscape.
General manager Dan Morgan and company absolutely splashed into the opening of the legal tampering period on Monday, starting with a reported agreement for outside linebacker Jaelan Phillips . The Panthers are expected to sign the former first-round pick, who was considered one of the very top pass rushers on the market, to a massive four-year, $120 million pact.

Carolina then capped off the day by reportedly coming to terms with inside linebacker Devin Lloyd . Lloyd, who is also amongst the best free agents at his position, will be set to ink a three-year, $45 million deal.
Reeling in two of the biggest fish in free agency is, obviously, a momentous development for the reigning NFC South champions. And these statements, in a refreshing change, has certainly put the league on notice.
