Kemon Spell has long been the top-ranked running back prospect in the 2027 cycle. When watching the senior Georgia commit in action for McKeesport (Pa.), it doesn't take very long to see why he's got everyone in Athens eagerly awaiting his arrival.
In a losing effort, Spell turned 12 carries into 200 rushing yards and a touchdown. He also found the end zone with his lone reception of the night, a 69-yard score. Despite the usual dominance from the 5-foot-10, 205-pounder, it wasn't enough as the Tigers lost 28-17 at Montour .
On the first play of the game, he caught a quick pass in the backfield and swiftly tore through the Montour defense, gliding up the left side of the field for a statement touchdown. In the first half, Spell needed just seven touches to stack 233 total yards and two scores.
Spell also took his first carry of the season to the house last week in a 55-0 win over Brashear . He barely needed to touch the ball in the season-opener, turning just four carries into 73 yards and three touchdowns.
It's what everyone has come to expect from the nation's No. 6 overall prospect in the 2027 cycle. Across the last two seasons, he's rushed for 3,436 yards and 52 TDs. He was named a Rivals Preseason All-American by Andy Villamarzo last month.
Still, McKeesport leaves with a 1-1 record. It entered this week as the No. 26 team in Pennsylvania, according to the Rivals Composite Rankings . They'll look to get back to winning ways next Friday at Clairton Thomas Jefferson .
Montour, the No. 29 team in the Keystone State, made quite the statement on Friday night. Junior Brandon Bennett was the straw that stirred the Spartans' drink, somehow hauling in three interceptions while rushing for a pair of touchdowns.
Spell reminds Rivals' Scouting and Rankings Team of former Alabama standout and current Detroit Lions superstar Jahmyr Gibbs . Rivals National Scout Cody Bellaire wrote this about the future Georgia Bulldog this summer:

Has all the physical and athletic tools to make an immediate impact at the next level and beyond."
