The No. 7 Longhorns dropped their exhibition opener Sunday in New York City at Madison Square Garden to the hometown No. 13 St. John's Red Storm.
Sophomore guard Isaiah Johnson scored a team-high 18 points in the loss. Johnson, who was 8-of-11 from the free throw line, also had a team-high four assists and two steals. Junior center Matas Vokietaitis had 14 points and four rebounds. Junior forward David punch added 11 points and led the Longhorns with seven rebounds.
