- No rest recruiting, as Missouri football lands 2027 quarterback commit
There's no rest on the recruiting trail.
One day after signing its 2026 recruiting class, Missouri football got on the board in the 2027 cycle with a commitment from quarterback Braylen Warren out of Omaha, Nebraska. The news that Warren had committed to the Tigers was first reported by Hayes Fawcett of Rivals on Thursday.
Warren is a three-star recruit at 247Sports. In the recruiting service's composite rankings, the Omaha Westside High product is the No. 419-ranked player in his class and the No. 29-rated quarterback. He is listed as 6 foot 1, 200 pounds.
He holds offers from a slew of Power-conference teams, with Kansas State and Iowa seemingly playing the biggest role in his commitment decision. Texas, Arkansas and Michigan also had offered Warren.
Mizzou has a long wait before Warren can officially sign with the team.
Early signing day for the Class of 2026 was Wednesday, Dec. 3. Mizzou signed a 19-player class that ranked among the top 35 in the country. Class of 2027 recruits, like Warren, will need to wait until next December to sign financial-aid or scholarship agreements and solidify their verbal commitments.
Mizzou coach Eli Drinkwitz also spoke at length about wanting to see players' senior-year tape before they officially sign. He said the Tigers will take earlier commitments, but that the team — given that high school recruits are now getting revenue-sharing money — wants to see their most recent film before finalizing deals.

Mizzou currently has three quarterbacks on the roster expected to compete in 2026: Beau Pribula, Matt Zollers, and 2026 signee Gavin Sidwar. All three of those players are from Pennsylvania.
The Tigers may turn to the transfer portal, which opens Jan. 2 this year, to add another quarterback to the roster.
This season, Mizzou got caught somewhat shorthanded because of injuries at the position to Pribula and Sam Horn, who is expected to join the Los Angeles Dodgers for spring training in early 2026.
In 2027, when Warren can join the team, Zollers and Sidwar both will have remaining eligibility. Pribula's last college season will be in 2026.
He is likely to be Mizzou's only QB recruit in this cycle. The Tigers, per Drinkwitz, are likely to put together 18- to 22-player recruiting classes moving forward.
Warren is the first player on board in the 2027 group.
