UConn held serve and delivered an 'as expected' performance to secure their 30th Elite Eight appearance in the program's history. Early it was game played on the outside. That allowed UNC to keep it a close game and even enjoy some early leads.
Once UConn changed their approach and went inside more than settling for outside shots, the Huskies began to pull away. UConn had an eight point lead to begin the second half and only widened that gap as the second half progressed.
Indya Nivar for UNC led the way with 20 points and eight rebounds. However, Sarah Strong was the story. 21 points on 40% shooting, 10 rebounds, five steals and two blocks. Up next, UConn will face upset winner Notre Dame who beat No. 2 seeded Vanderbilt earlier today.
