🏆 Not just Roma and Inter, Como too! A 3️⃣-way Serie A title race? 🤔
Roma and Como have responded to Lazio and piled pressure on Inter, who play away at Venezia today. At 18:30, the Nerazzurri must avoid getting bogged down in the lagoon, just as Allegri's Napoli did only ten days ago.

The derby awaits on Saturday, a match as unpredictable as ever and one that has brought nothing but painunder Chivu so far. That makes winning in Venezia even more important, so they can head into the city showdown with three more points and without any added pressure.
Then again, thinking about it, Chivu must already have a few concerns, seeing how Como and Roma are playing...
🤔 A three-horse race?
With Juve, Napoli and Milan out of the title race, there was a chance of a one-horse racealong the lines of the one that earned the Nerazzurri their second star three years ago.
The first nine rounds, however, have shown us that Lautaro and his teammates will have to work very hard to lift the Scudetto in May. We don't know whether Roma and Como will keep pace with the Nerazzurri, a side certainly more accustomed to competing on multiple fronts.

What everyone can see, though, is that we have two credible challengers, at least based on what they have shown so far. How many people were expecting Gasp and/or Fabregas to slip uplast night, in their fourth match in ten days? Concentration could have dipped against Cagliari and Torino — and perhaps it did— but both came away with three hugely important points, especially considering how the two games had unfolded.
Meanwhile, Laziolead the way, although they are unlikely to maintain this pace forever. Gattuso is doing an outstanding job, but it is fair to say that the aim — unthinkable at the start of the season — is a return to Europe, not the Scudetto.
🤷♂️ Where can the gap be closed?
At this point, there are two questions: will Roma and Como slow down? And if not, can Inter handle the pressure of another neck-and-neck title race?

Two years ago, Inzaghi's side lost the battle with Napoli, despite having the Scudetto within their grasp at one stage. Their European campaign certainly played a part, taking a real physical and mental tollon the Nerazzurri, but the fact remains.
This time, the Italian champions certainly have a deeper squadthan Como and Roma, although the Giallorossi's squad is proving far closer to theirs than people thought.
So far, the head-to-head meetings have been all square: draws between Como and Roma (the only 0-0 in Serie A this season) and Roma and Inter (2-2), while Chivu will host Fabregas straight after the derby, on 8 November.
Looking back at last season, it becomes clear where Roma and Como need to improve to close the gap on Inter. The head-to-head record between the three told its own story: four Inter wins, with 14 goals scored and five conceded. In short, dethroning the champions will mean improving those numbers too.
