Notre Dame sees two players injured early in spring practices

Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman met with the media on Wednesday, and he brought with him some injury news as spring practice has begun .

There are two notable injuries that have popped up over the last 10-days, both of them requiring a surgery to correct an issue. Defensive lineman Jason Onye recently suffered a hand injury, which he went under the knife to correct this week and could miss the remainder of spring practices. This isn’t a huge loss, as he has already shown the coaching staff that he belongs on the field.

The other injury that was announced was safety Nick Reddish has a torn labrum which will need to be corrected. This injury is a bit more severe, as he has been ruled out from the rest of the spring.

Aside from those two, Notre Dame is pretty healthy, as Freeman didn’t mention anyone else that has a significant issue. There was a bit of good news on the injury front, as he did mention that wide receiver Jaden Greathouse is progressing well with his hamstring , but wants to be very careful due to the lingering nature of that kind of ailment. You know some players are banged up, but obviously not big enough to hold them out for an extended period of time.
