Notre Dame vs. Ohio State: Live updates of Women’s NCAA Tournament
Notre Dame women’s basketball will have a chance to make its fifth-straight Sweet-16 today , as it will face-off against Ohio State in what should be a home game for the Buckeyes.
The game will be in Columbus, Ohio as the hosts will play in-front of their home crowd fans one more time this season. The Irish enter the contest as one of the hottest teams in the country, as they know that there is nothing to lose for them.
While Ohio State is favored in this contest, it should be one that will be very close, as Notre Dame only loss since mid-February came by two-points. Notre Dame 83, Ohio State 73 - Final
Kennedy Cambridge fouls out and is emotional. Moore makes both free throws. Ohio State misses the three point shot and Irish grab the rebound, that should just about do it. De Jesus makes both free throws. Ohio State with another airball and Notre Dame is fouled on the rebound. Cowles to shoot two free throws. She makes both. Hannah Hidalgo fouls out and gives everyone on the bench a hug. Jaloni Cambridge makes both free throws to get to 35 points. Ohio State steals the inbound and Cambridge with another three point shot. Ohio State steals the ball yet again and Cambridge (who else?) makes ANOTHER three point shot to give her 41 for the game. Incredible considering Ohio State has 73 total points. Notre Dame is able to cross the center half court line and the game is over. Notre Dame is going to the Sweet Sixteen!
Notre Dame 77, Ohio State 65 - 1:09 left in the fourth quarter
The Irish throw the ball in and Hidalgo is immediately fouled. She makes both free throws and it is a fourteen point lead. Cambridge draws a foul. Cambridge absolutely came out to play with almost half of her team's points. She makes both free throws. Ohio State calls timeout.
Notre Dame 75, Ohio State 63 - 1:18 left in the fourth quarter
Buckeyes trap Notre Dame in the corner and the Irish are forced to call another time out.

Hannah goes to the free throw line and makes both free throws, it is now a sixteen point lead. Jaloni Cambridge is blocked by Prosper and it's Notre Dame ball. Hidalgo misses the long jumper. Lemmila draws another foul on Cowles but misses the first free throw. She makes the second free throw. Ohio State presses again and gets a jump ball call against De Jesus and it is Buckeyes ball. Cambridge is again blocked by Cowles but Ohio State gets the ball back and Cambridge hits the three point shot. She now has 31 points. Irish continue to be pressed and call a time out.
Notre Dame 73, Ohio State 59 - 2:33 left in the fourth quarter
Hannah Hidalgo with steal out of the timeout and scores a basket with the foul! However she misses the free throw. Ohio State misses the jumper but Hannah grabs the rebound. She now has a double-double. Hanna attacks the rim, misses the shot but grabs her own rebound again and resets. Moore takes a step back three point shot but can't connect. Buckeyes commit yet another turnover. Hidalgo finds Prosper for a three point shot but it does not fall. Gray goes to the rim and draws a foul. She makes both free throws. Once again the Buckeyes press but Hidalgo gets over the line. Hannah draws a foul. Notre Dame takes time off the clock and Hannah steps back and drills a high-arch three point shot! Ohio State draws the foul. Jaloni Cambridge goes to the rim and draws the fourth foul on Hidalgo. This will be one to watch. Hidalgo gets her seventh steal of the game. De Jesus finds Cowles who can't make it. Cambridge goes to the rim and draws a foul. She misses the second free throw, the lead remains ten. Hidalgo again gets to the rim, takes a bad shot but gets bailed out with a foul call. Hannah misses the first free throw. Makes the second. Three minutes remaining and Ohio State turns the ball over. Ohio State is going to have to turn things around quickly for a chance to go to the sweet sixteen. Notre Dame continues to eat the clock. Prosper gets to the hole and scores the bucket and gets the foul call. She makes the free throw. Hannah Hidalgo gets yet another steal, her eighth and she gets fouled. Official is reviewing to see if common foul should be upgraded to flagrant.
Notre Dame 64, Ohio State 56- 7:45 left in the fourth quarter
Moore drains a three point shot coming out of the break. J Cambridge loses the ball and after a bunch of back and forth ultimately it goes off of Prosper of Notre Dame. Cambridge makes a midrange basket for her 27th points. Hidalgo misses the stepback jumper but the ball bounces off of Ohio State. Irish do not get the ball off in time and it is a 24 second shot clock violation. Hannah Hidalgo steals the ball on the other end. Hannah finds De Jesus for a wide open three and she drills it. Timeout.
Notre Dame 58, Ohio State 54- End of the third quarter
Notre Dame with four quick points out of the time out including a mid range jump by Hidalgo. Jaloni Cambridge with a very strong and acrobatic shot that goes in and she is able to draw a foul call. Jaloni is noticably wincing grabbing her wrist. Another press by the Buckeyes and it forces an unforced turnover by the Irish. Cambridge goes straight to the rim and she has scored 23 points. Hidalgo takes a high arc jump shot but misses. Hidalgo with the near steal but is called for the foul. Cambridge will shoot free throws. She misses the back end, and the lead is one for Notre Dame. Hidalgo attacks the rim but cannot make the basket, but Notre Dame gets the offensive rebound. Bransford airballs a wide open three point shot and Ohio State will have a chance to take the lead. Ohio State misses the three point shot and Hidalgo gets the seventh rebound. She takes it all the way to the rim for the bucket. Cambridge misses the long jumper and Notre Dame grabs another defensive rebound. De Jesus goes to the rim and passes the ball to Bransford who is able to draw a foul as the shot clock expires. She makes both free throws. Cambridge draws the foul and will go to the free throw line. She makes one of two. Hidalgo gets to the rim but the shot is too strong. Grabs her own rebound but steps out of bounds. Now Jaloni Cambridge steps out of bounds. Hidalgo runs the court but her shot is blocked from behind. End of the quarter.
Notre Dame 50, Ohio State 47- 4:50 left in the third quarter
Jaloni Cambridge misses the three. Prosper down low turns the ball over. Kennedy Cambridge loses the ball at the rim but it falls in Lemmilla's hands who gets an easy made basket. Irish with a bad pass and another turnover. Jaloni Cambridge makes a three point basket. Lead down to eight. Hidalgo puts up the tough jumper but it misses. Cambridge goes the length of the court and gets fouled. Moore with her third foul. Cambridge makes both free throws. Ohio State presses the Irish and they are barely able to get it over the half-court line in time. Coles misses the basket at the rim and Ohio State turns the ball over. Buckeyes get the ball back and make the three point shot. Timeout by Notre Dame.
Notre Dame 50, Ohio State 37 - 8:03 left in the third quarter
Kennedy Cambridge misses a shot out of the timeout but grabs her own rebound. Buckeyes turnover and De Jesus makes a three point shot on their opening possession. Kennedy Cambridge takes a shot by the basket and is fouled. She makes both free throws. De Jesus takes another three but isn't able to connect. But they grab the offensive rebound and Moore goes to the rim and makes the basket. Ohio State misses the basket and Hidalgo grabs the rebound. Hidalgo takes a tough midrange shot but somehow it goes in and the Buckeyes call time out.
Notre Dame 43, Ohio State 35- Halftime
De Jesus attempts a three point shot and is fouled, so she will shoot three free throws. She makes all three free throws. Graphic shows Irish on a 17-4 run. Ohio State makes a basket at the rim. Ohio State steals it and then throws the ball back to Notre Dame. Hidalgo loses the ball and that's multiple turnovers in seconds. Gray gets to the rim in transition and is able to make a basket and get the foul. Iyena Moore's second foul. The free throw is made. Bransford connects with a short range jumper. Cambridge takes it right to the rim and makes the bucket. This is the Cambridge that was hurt earlier, she appears ot be fine. Hidalgo misses a jumper. Turnover on Ohio State. Notre Dame misses the shot, Prosper gets the rebound and is fouled. She makes both free throws. Notre Dame steals the ball. Refs miss a travel by De Jesus. Irish can't capitalize however as they get a three second call. Ohio State makes a nice jumper by Lemilla. Hidalgo goes to the rim and draws a foul call. Hidalgo to the line and she makes both. Ohio State misses the running jumper and Irish rebound. Hidalgo takes a tough shot near the rim and is able to connect. Offensive foul again on Lemilla, her second of the game. De Jesus goes to the rim but is fouled by Kennedy Cambridge. De Jesus makes both free throws. Jeloni Cambridge takes a jumper against Hidalgo but is not able to connect. Halftime. Chaotic first half.
Notre Dame 30, Ohio State 26 - 4:49 Left in the second quarter
Notre Dame misses but is able to get an offensive rebound. Hidalgo takes a mid-range jumper but misses. Cambridge attacks the Irish defense and hits a short jumper. Notre Dame is able to make the basket, and Ohio State follows up with a miss. Coles makes the layup and we have a tie ball game! Cambridge rolls around the screen but turns the ball over. De Jesus makes a tough transition layup and Notre Dame takes their first lead! Ohio State misses the 16 foot jumper. Prosper is able to make a basket at the rim and Ohio State's Kennedy Cambridge is on the ground in pain. There is a pause in play. Notre Dame is on an 8-0 run. Play resumes. The Buckeyes miss a turnaround jumper, and Notre Dame does the same on the other end. Cambridge makes a 9 foot jumper on the other end. Prosper dribbles through the entire Buckeyes defense and makes a 7 foot jumper. Ohio State misses and Hidalgo grabs the rebound but throws it away. Buckeyes miss a jumper. Moore tries another three but it goes off the side of the rim. Cambridge goes the entire court and misses the difficult shot at the rim. Foul on Ohio State. Timeout.
Notre Dame 20, Ohio State 22 - End of first quarter
Hidalgo gets an open three out of the timeout and connects. Cambridge with an airball and Notre Dame attacks the rim but misses the basket. Kitts turns the ball over and now the play has gotten sloppy. De Jesus misses the three. Offensive foul on Ohio State. Notre Dame will have the ball last in this quarter. Hidalgo splits the defenders and finds her teammate for an easy layup.
Notre Dame 16, Ohio State 22 -1:35 Left in the first quarter
Out of the time out, same story. Ohio State forces a turnover and gets a layup on the other end. Tough start for the Irish. Hidalgo misses a shot at the rim but is able to steal the ball but misses the put back. Ohio State finally misses a shot and it is rebounded by the Irish. Moore is able to make a three and finally there are Irish points on the board. Moore makes her second triple and it looks like Iyena Moore is feeling it. Irish with the steal and layup and all of a sudden we have a ball game at 13-8 Buckeyes. Buckeyes miss their basket and Moore tries a heat check but misses. Gray from Ohio State is fouled on the other end. Both free throws made. Sanchez is able to put the ball in for the Irish and now it's a back and forth affair. Steal number three by Hannah Hidalgo and she has an easy layup. Kitts jumper stops a 9-2 Irish run. Hidalgo's shot is blocked and Gray has an easy layup for Ohio State. Notre Dame misses a jumper from the free throw line and Ohio state goes the other way, where it is picked off by the Irish. This has been an aggressive game from both sides. Sanchez drives to the rim but the ball is stolen. Ohio State can't score and Hidalgo gets an easy layup on the other end. Ohio State misses another bucket and Hidalgo goes up to the rim and misses, yet it is tapped in by an Ohio State player on an attempt for a rebound, count the basket. Watson hits a three for the Buckeyes. Jeloni Cambridge blocks Sanchez for a layup attempt and time out.
Notre Dame 0, Ohio State 9 - 8:18 Left in the first quarter
Ohio State wins the jump and score immediately. Notre Dame shot blocked and Ohio State responds on the other with another basket making it a quick four points. Make that six quick points for Ohio State. The Buckeyes are coming out with energy as Moore misses a three pointer and Jeloni Cambridge hits a three point shot. Timeout.
It’s almost time for Notre Dame vs. Ohio State
It’s pretty clear what is at stake here for Notre Dame, as its steak of Sweet-16 appearances is on the line. The last time these two teams met in the tournament was 2017, with the Irish beating the Buckeyes in the Sweet-16 winning 99-76.
