Nottingham Forest may need to shake up their goalkeeping department to start bringing results in.
The Tricky Trees have been struggling to find form with zero wins in their last five fixtures.
And part of that may be down to their underperforming goalkeeper in the Premier League.
Matz Sels has proven over the years to be a commendable goalkeeper, picking up the golden glove award in 2025-25, and has long held untouchable status at Forest.
However, at 34 years old, the Belgian may be showing signs of regression.
His stats this season are not portraying the best outlook for the Nottingham Forest man.
Matz Sels' worrying save percentage highlights Nottingham Forest's problem
Forest's defensive issues have been evident throughout the campaign, but their problems are not solely down to those playing in front of Sels.
The goalkeeper himself appears to be one of the contributors to those defensive woes.
According to FotMob , following the weekend's defeat to Brentford, Sels has one of the worst save percentages in the Premier League.
His 58.6 per cent save rate places him in the bottom 20 per cent of goalkeepers in England's top flight for 2026-27
Additionally, Sels has let more goals into his net than he should have, a feat no goalkeeper wants to have to their name.
The 34-year-old has a goals-prevented stat of -1.73, which is far from ideal for Nottingham Forest.
Nottingham Forest 'worried' about player who 'could get Oliver Glasner sacked' Who could replace Sels?
Oliver Glasner had clearly wanted a new goalkeeper in the summer, with reports he wanted a reunion with Dean Henderson at the City Ground.
In the end, no new number one arrival would be brought, and Sels would keep his place.
At Glasner's disposal, that does only really leave one other option, and that is Brazilian shot-stopper, John Victor.
The South American has rarely featured, with his five appearances last season actually having a lower save percentage than Sels, at 42.9 per cent.
However, there is clearly a top shot-stopper there, as before he was picked up from the Brazilian Serie A, he had a save percentage of 81.4 per cent.
Things may not have worked out for Victor last season, but with a new coach and confidence put into him, perhaps he can return to that level.
Something certainly needs to change, as Sels is one of the worst-performing goalkeepers in the Premier League.
