Sevilla FC have announced a deal for a member of the goalkeeper ranks at La Liga rivals Real Madrid . The player to have made the call to continue his career in Nervión? Fran González .
Fran, for his part, is a 21-year-old shot-stopper, who has long been held in high regard in Madrid and across Spain alike. This past season, he was a regular feature in Real's first-team setup, sitting behind Thibaut Courtois and Andriy Lunin in the pecking order between the posts.
Aware that a move away from the Bernabéu would be required to ramp up his development, though, Fran had for some time now been linked with a summer transfer.
And as alluded to above, over the last 24 hours, precisely as much has come to fruition for the talented goalkeeper.
As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of Sevilla:
'Sevilla FC and Real Madrid have reached an agreement for the transfer of goalkeeper Francisco Javier González Pérez (León, June 24, 2005) until June 2031, a five-year contract.'
Sevilla are understood to have forked out around €3 million to secure 50% of Fran's playing rights for the next five seasons.
