Ohio State basketball nabs priority guard out of transfer portal
So far, the news pertaining to the Ohio State basketball transfer portal has been guys departing, but no longer. On Friday, the son of NBA great Scottie Pippen, Justin Pippen, has decided to commit to the Buckeyes out of the transfer portal.
Originally committed to Michigan , Pippen played for the Wolverines his freshman year but transferred and played at Cal last season, helping lead the team to an NIT Tournament berth. He had a breakout campaign in Berkley, averaging 14.2 points, 4.6 assists, and 3.9 rebounds. His ability to handle the ball, score, and create opportunities for others should be a huge benefit for Ohio State.

Pippen should have every opportunity to compete for a starting spot along with returning guard John Mobley Jr. , and that means either could play on or off the ball, creating mismatch issues for the opposition. He is the first commit out of the transfer portal for head coach Jake Diebler and the Buckeyes in an offseason in which there should be more splash moves made.
