Ohio State football adds Duke safety transfer Terry Moore
Former Duke safety Terry Moore is set to transfer to Ohio State for his final year of eligibility.
The Buckeyes announced his signing on Jan. 12, adding one of the top safeties available during the offseason transfer portal window that began this month.
On3, a website that covers recruiting, ranked Moore as the second-best safety to enter the portal.
Moore is an experienced safety with 19 career starts, most of them during a breakout season in 2024 when he was named second-team All-ACC with 71 tackles, seven tackles for loss, one sack and four interceptions.
He did not appear in a game last fall due to an injury and redshirted in order to preserve the year of eligibility. He tore an anterior cruciate ligament while returning an interception in the Gator Bowl at the end of the 2024 season.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound safety has handled a mix of roles in the secondary. As a junior with the Blue Devils, he played half of his snaps as their free safety, while also lining up in the box or in the slot for coverage.
Moore was the second transfer safety in as many days to commit to Ohio State in as many days following Earl Little Jr., who was a second-team All-ACC standout at Florida State in 2025.
Both would help the Buckeyes to replace departing safeties Caleb Downs and Lorenzo Styles Jr.
