Former Ohio State forward Devin Royal entered the transfer portal on March 29 and may have already found his next destination, according to 247Sports. The 6’6 junior from Pickerington, Ohio, officially entered the portal with a do-not-contact designation when it opened Monday night. Just before the portal opened, Royal received a crystal ball prediction linking him to UConn.

Royal started 32 games this season for the Buckeyes , averaging 32.5 minutes, 13.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. He now appears poised to join Dan Hurley’s Huskies in Storrs, Connecticut, who fell to the Michigan Wolverines in last night’s national championship game.

Royal’s decision to enter the portal came as a bit of a surprise, given his productive season. However, with 5-star freshman Anthony Thompson, the No. 7 player in the 2026 recruiting class, arriving in Columbus and forward Amare Bynum returning, Royal seemed to be the odd man out.
