Ohio State receiver Brandon Inniss makes decision on NFL future
We've been tracking all of the Ohio State transfer portal news, but there are also players that NFL draft decisions to make that we don't want to forget about. Safety Caleb Downs and receiver Carnell Tate already made their future plans known, and on Thursday, we heard from Brandon Inniss on what he plans to do, and it's to stay on the banks of the Olentangy for his senior season.
It's not a surprise, because Inniss was the third option at wide receiver in the passing game last season behind Tate and Jeremiah Smith . The chances of him going high enough in the NFL draft in April to make it worth his while to declare early wasn't likely the best decision. In 2025, Inniss caught 36 receptions for 271 yards (7.5 avg.) and three touchdowns.
However, in 2026, Inniss' production should take a leap with Tate moving on and with the extra year of development from a more productive back end of the season, where we saw him become a bigger part of the passing game. It wouldn't be surprising at all to see Inniss firmly entrenched as the second option for quarterback Julian Sayin next year as the former high 4-star prospect continues to gain the confidence of the coaching staff.
Inniss makes it the first player on the early NFL draft declaration watch that has made the decision to continue to wear the Scarlet and Gray, and we'll continue to keep tabs on the others and bring those announcements to you as well.
