Old Dominion pass rusher Kris Trinidad met with Saints pre-draft
The New Orleans Saints have done an impressive job over the last few months building up a roster on offense and continuing to put together some impressive talent around Tyler Shough . Their defense in 2025 was solid already, but with the losses of Demario Davis and Alontae Taylor in free agency, things get a bit interesting heading into the NFL Draft.
While there are plenty of good defensive prospects at the very top of the upcoming draft class, there are also a substantial number of quality players down the board as well. A name the Saints have been doing some research into is Old Dominion defensive end Kris Trinidad.
Trinidad is a very fascinating mold for a defensive end, standing at 6-foot-5 and 272 pounds. He has great size, but his pass-rush production is rather inconsistent. In 2025, he posted 4 sacks, 28 pressures, 23 tackles, and 19 defensive stops in 574 snaps. 2024 was slightly more productive in most categories, as in 613 snaps, he had 7 sacks, 29 pressures, 23 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and 25 defensive stops.
Trinidad will be a fun prospect to keep an eye out for when Days 2 and 3 come around for the 2026 NFL Draft, as he could end up being a Saints developmental pick who stands out early.
