Ole Miss football lands Darrell Gill in transfer portal. How Syracuse WR fits in

OXFORD — Ole Miss football added one of the top remaining wide receivers in the transfer portal.

Former Syracuse wide receiver Darrell Gill is transferring to the Rebels, the 17th commitment in coach Pete Golding's transfer class .

Gill confirmed the news on X on Jan. 14.

He is an incoming senior with one season of eligibility. He is a 6-foot-3, 190-pound wideout from Atascocita, Texas.

Gill played sparingly as a freshman in 2023 but emerged as a steady contributor at Syracuse in 2024 and 2025. He had 31 catches in 2024 for 570 yards and two touchdowns. In 2025, he had 32 catches for 506 yards and five touchdowns.

The Rebels have a need at wide receiver heading into 2026. Starting wideouts De'Zhaun Stribling and Harrison Wallace are both projected to be picked in the upcoming NFL draft.

Gill could help fill Stribling's place as a big, physical target on the outside. Stribling is 6-2, 210 pounds.

Ole Miss also has added wide receiver Cameron Miller ( Kentucky ) and Isaiah Spencer ( Virginia Tech ) in its i ncoming transfer class . The portal closes on Jan. 16.
