Oliver Glasner has revealed his delight about Nottingham Forest's transfer window despite no late additions to his squad.
Forest had a quiet transfer window by their own, often chaotic, standards, but strengthened with six additions.
Five of these will contribute to Glasner's squad, following Gustavo Sa's loan to Olympiacos , and were all hand-picked by the Austrian head coach.
While Forest had hoped to recruit a second midfielder, they did not want to rush into a panic buy after missing out on their targets.
Although this approach was not favourable with everyone, Glasner himself has confirmed that he is "very happy" about how the Reds' transfer window went.
"I'm very happy and very pleased with how the transfer window went at the end," Glasner insisted on Thursday.
"We wanted to reduce the number of players, because we won't be playing European football this season, while also adding quality players with top character, and I think we achieved everything."
Six players arrived through the doors of the City Ground this summer, as Glasner and the club's hierarchy moulded the squad to suit his 3-4-2-1 system.
Xaver Schlager was the first addition, a midfielder familiar to Glasner, having played under him during their time at Wolfsburg.
A free signing, the 28-year-old was an astute pick-up for Forest, who fought off interest from elite European clubs for his signature, including his own former club RB Leipzig, who had hoped to tie him down to a new contract.
The next addition was Gustavo Sa, a highly-rated Portuguese talent who arrived in a £17 million deal from Famalicão before heading immediately on loan to Olympiacos.
Steven Benda then arrived as a free agent from Fulham, in a no-risk deal to serve as an experienced third-choice goalkeeper.
Then the first of Forest's big-money deals materialised, as Ousmane Diomande's arrival from Sporting was finally confirmed.
A long-term target for Glasner, the Ivorian central defender is seen as a pivotal cog in his 3-4-2-1 system, and a real asset for the club.
Forest then smashed their transfer record to sign striker Liam Delap in an initial £45 million deal from Chelsea.
Glasner wanted a new physical striker, and got his wish, and the 23-year-old's intelligence has already played a big role, as it helped Forest win a penalty in their 2-2 draw at Anfield.
The final addition was for another key target of Glasner, as wingback Daniel Muñoz arrived in a £22 million deal from his former club, Crystal Palace.
Like Diomande, the Colombian is viewed as a huge asset, and an important figure to truly unlock 'Glasner-ball'.
