Olivia Miles had arguably the best rookie season since Caitlin Clark. The Minnesota Lynx guard made an immediate impact in 2026, finishing with 790 points to break Clark's previous WNBA rookie scoring record of 769, set in 2024. Miles also averaged 19.8 points, 6.0 assists and 4.7 rebounds across 40 regular-season games, earning Rookie of the Year honors.
Miles' rookie campaign also included an All-Star selection and several notable records. She set a rookie single-game record with eight three-pointers against the Golden State Valkyries and became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 500 points and 150 assists. Her performances put her among the league's most talked-about young guards.
Clark, meanwhile, remains one of the toughest players for opposing guards to defend. Her shooting range, ability to attack the basket and vision as a passer create problems for teams trying to contain the Indiana Fever star.

Miles recently discussed that challenge during an appearance on "The Old Man and the Three podcast," and acknowledged how tough it is to play against Clark.
"Obviously Caitlin with the shooting and her playmaking ability," Miles said. "She's so good with her right hand attacking down hill and creating for others…It is annoying to play against."
This is not the first time Miles has spoken highly of Clark. During an interview with the Daily Mail shortly after the 2026 WNBA Draft, she praised Clark's scoring and playmaking when asked to compare her with other great players. Miles ultimately chose Breanna Stewart in the discussion, pointing to Stewart's championships and individual honors, but made sure to acknowledge what makes Clark special.
Clark has also shown admiration for Miles. After the Fever defeated the Lynx on Sept. 22, Clark expressed her desire to play against Miles in their next meeting.
