Openda is making Juventus dream of a windfall in the summer
Lois Openda was regarded as a Juventus flop, but he has become a hero at Lyon within just a few weeks, providing encouraging news for the Bianconeri.
Juventus signed the Belgian forward on loan during the summer of 2025, but his first and probably only season on their books proved disappointing. He failed to demonstrate that he was good enough under two different managers, and his performances did not meet the club's expectations.

By the end of the campaign, Juventus were convinced that they no longer wanted Openda to remain in Turin. Lyon took advantage of the situation and secured his services , giving the attacker an opportunity to revive his career in Ligue 1.
Openda has performed well since joining the French club , and his early form could benefit Juventus financially.
Openda Revives His Career
Tuttojuve says Openda's performances have made Juventus dream of receiving a substantial transfer fee for him at the end of the season. His improvement at Lyon has increased his value and could create several options for the Bianconeri.

If Lyon do not have the financial means to sign him permanently, Openda's form is likely to attract interest from leading clubs around the world. Juventus could therefore still make money from his sale, regardless of whether the French club can afford to complete the transfer.
The forward's progress has transformed his situation. After struggling in Turin, he is now demonstrating the qualities that made him an attractive signing in the first place.

Juventus Await Profitable Sale
Juventus simply want Openda to continue performing at his current level. If he maintains his form, they can trust that he will attract a suitable offer when the time comes to decide his future.

A permanent move to Lyon would provide Juventus with a useful return, while interest from another club could drive the fee even higher. The Bianconeri will therefore benefit from either outcome, provided Openda continues to impress.
His revival is positive for everyone involved. Openda has the chance to establish himself again, Lyon could gain an effective forward, and Juventus may recover valuable funds from a player who previously failed to meet expectations.
