The No. 5 seed Oregon Ducks moved on to the College Football Playoff semifinals round with a 23-0 blowout win over the No. 4 Texas Tech Red Raiders in the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.
Oregon forced four Texas Tech turnovers with quarterback Behren Morton throwing a pair of interceptions.
Texas Tech had 215 total yards of offense as Oregon controlled the game the entire time.
Oregon took a 16-0 lead in the fourth quarter when Atticus Sappington nailed a 43-yard field goal. Then, Blake Purchase sacked Morton on fourth down to give Oregon the ball back with just over three minutes to play.
And, in the final seconds, Oregon coach Dan Lanning decided to run the ball on 4th-and-1, and Jordan Davison scored the final touchdown to make the score 23-0.
However, fans were not thrilled with Lanning's decision to run the football instead of ending the game, and one fan even called Lanning "classless."
"Classless... Dan Lanning goes for a TD on 4th and goal with almost no time left on the clock. Seriously Oregon? Do better."
Lanning called a timeout right before the play and then punched in the final touchdown of the game.
But fans continued to show their frustration on the decision by the Ducks.

"I'm not a fan of Dan Lanning going for it on 4th and goal for an extra TD against Tech at the last seconds. He already embarrassed Tech, no need to do that," another user wrote .
"Dan Lanning is so petty scoring that touchdown lol" another said . "Dan Lanning just called a timeout with 19 seconds left while up 16-0 with the ball at the 1. Comes out of the timeout and runs up the middle for a TD. What did TT do to him?" another wrote .
"Dan Lanning calling that TO with 19 seconds left to score that final touchdown is a classless punk move," another stated .
Oregon running out the clock would've given the ball back to Texas Tech, but the game was more than out of reach at that point.
Nonetheless, Oregon moves on to the semifinal round to face the Alabama-Indiana winner.
