Oregon Ducks EDGE Blake Purchase to enter transfer portal

With the Oregon Ducks ' season now over, we are starting to see some movement in the transfer portal, both with outgoing and incoming players.

On Sunday, arguably the most significant outgoing transfer yet was announced, with EDGE Blake Purchase announcing that he plans to enter the portal and look for a new team. Purchase was not an every-down player for Oregon , but he was a very productive situational pass-rusher who had an impact in 2025, with 32 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, a pair of sacks, and an interception. On top of that, he also had nine QB hurries this past season.

Purchase is a redshirt sophomore with 39 total tackles, 7 TFLs, and 3.5 sacks in his career, and he will have two years of eligibility remaining.

While this is a tough development for Oregon's defense, it could potentially come with an upside. While nothing has been confirmed just yet, Purchase's departure might allude to who is returning for Oregon at the EDGE position in 2026. Both Matayo Uiaglelei and Teitum Tuioti could potentially declare for the 2026 NFL draft, which would have cleared room for Purchase to have a bigger role. However, with Purchase deciding to leave, it might signal that one or both players are planning to return.

We will have to see how that plays out, but for now, it's clear that Purchase is moving on.
