Oregon Ducks safety Kingston Lopa to enter transfer portal

The Oregon Ducks' depth in the secondary took a hit on Sunday afternoon with some transfer portal entrants.

According to On3's Hayes Fawcett, safety Kingston Lopa is expected to end his time with the Ducks and enter the transfer portal once it opens in early January. Lopa is not expected to finish the remainder of the College Football Playoff run with Oregon.

As a redshirt freshman, Lopa has played in 13 games this year, totaling 12 tackles, one tackle for loss, and one sack. He will have three years of eligibility going forward, and should be an intriguing target on the open market with his 6-foot-5, 200-pound frame.

Lopa is the second member of the Ducks' secondary to enter the portal on Sunday, along with defensive back Sione Laulea.

Lopa is now the sixth Oregon player to enter the portal this year, joining Laulea, WR Justius Lowe, CB Jahlil Florence, CB Dakoda Fields, and S Solomon Davis.
