The Baltimore Orioles ' bullpen has dealt with injuries all season. Despite being battered and bruised, the Orioles' bullpen is 10th-best in baseball in ERA (3.46) and tied for fourth in saves (nine).

Winners of two straight games against the Boston Red Sox and the Kansas City Royals , the bullpen will be getting one of its regulars back in Game 2 versus the Red Sox.

According to the Orioles on X, left-hander Keegan Akin will return to the bullpen, as he was activated from the injured list on Saturday. Akin was placed on the injured list in March after suffering a left groin strain.

To clear a spot on the active roster for Akin, the Orioles optioned right-hander Cameron Foster to Triple-A Norfolk. Foster, 27, threw two innings, striking out one and walking one in the Orioles' 10-3 win over the Red Sox.

Akin's return will give manager Craig Albernaz another left-hander in his bullpen, as Grant Wolfram was the only one in use. Left-hander Dietrich Enns is another left-hander in the Orioles bullpen, but he has also been on the injured list since early April with a left foot infection.

Akin has spent his entire career with the Orioles and has done well. The 31-year-old is coming off back-to-back solid seasons out of the bullpen, having a 3.32 ERA with six holds in 66 games, while having a 3.41 ERA with 16 holds last season.
