OU basketball brings back point guard Xzayvier Brown for second season

NORMAN — Oklahoma men's basketball took care of one of its biggest offseason priorities on Monday.

The Sooners agreed to a deal to bring back point guard Xzayvier Brown next season, On3 reported .

The 6-foot-2 junior averaged 15.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game this past season. Brown 's stepfather, Justin Scott, is an OU assistant coach.

The Sooners added their first transfer portal addition Monday, adding Louisville transfer Khani Rooths to its frontcourt. OU has lost Jeff Nwankwo ( Youngstown State ), Andreas Holst, Jake Hansen and Kuol Atak ( Virginia Tech ) in the transfer portal this offseason.

Now that OU has locked up Brown, attention turns to forward Derrion Reid .

Brown immediately becomes one of the top returning scorers in the SEC next season.
