Packers Make C Sean Rhyan One of NFL’s Highest Paid Centers With Massive Deal

The Green Bay Packers have officially joined the offseason spending spree, locking up center Sean Rhyan with a massive new contract that now places him among the highest-paid centers in the NFL . The move shows just how serious Green Bay is about rewarding the players it views as key pieces of the roster moving forward.

As teams around the league start handing out big deals and reshaping their rosters for the upcoming season, the Packers decided it was time to take care of one of the anchors of their offensive line. Rhyan’s rise within the organization and his importance to the offense ultimately made him a priority, and the franchise wasted little time making sure he stays in Green Bay for the long haul.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported the signing on X saying, “Packers and C Sean Rhyan have agreed to a three-year, $33M deal with a max value of $39M. Rhyan becomes one of highest paid centers after nine career starts there. Cameron Foster of @reign_sports and Sam Mirza and Chris Cabott of @EquitySports negotiated and confirmed deal.”

A Closer Look at a Big Signing for the Packers

The Green Bay Packers have made a significant commitment to the middle of their offensive line, signing Sean Rhyan to a three-year, $33 million extension that could climb to $39 million with incentives.

The contract also includes an $11 million signing bonus, and the average annual value of roughly $11 million per year now places Rhyan among the better-paid centers across the league.

Rhyan’s rise to this deal has been anything but straightforward. The 2022 third-round pick initially entered the league as a tackle before transitioning to the interior, spending time at right guard before eventually sliding over to center.

During the 2025 season, Rhyan appeared in all 17 regular-season games and Green Bay’s lone playoff matchup. He began the year at guard but moved to center late in the season after Elgton Jenkins suffered a season-ending leg injury.

Once he took over the role, Rhyan helped steady the offensive line and allowed just one sack across the final nine games. According to grading metrics, he finished the year ranked 28th among centers with at least 500 snaps, including a top-20 grade as a run blocker. His physicality in the run game and versatility across the interior were key reasons the Packers felt comfortable investing long term.

With the new contract in place, Rhyan now looks set to anchor the line protecting quarterback Jordan Love as Green Bay continues shaping its offense for the future.
