- Packers’ defensive lineman seems primed for breakout season
As the Packers aim to survive the first month-plus of the season with Micah Parsons on the mend, one of Green Bay 's defensive tackles may be about to create some havoc of his own up front.

Defensive line coach Jerry Montgomery (left) works with Devonte Wyatt (95) and Jonathan Ford (99) during Green Bay Packers rookie camp Friday, May 6, 2022 in Green Bay, Wis.
Every contender is bound to see breakout stars emerge through the course of the season , and for the Packers, Jonathan Ford might just be about to make his presence felt in 2026.
Over at Pro Football Focus, Gordon McGuinness put together a list of every team's highest-graded player of the preseason, with Ford topping the list for Green Bay.
"This was Ford's fifth preseason after entering the league as a seventh-round pick in 2022," McGuinness writes for PFF. "And it was comfortably his best performance in the month of August. He registered five pressures from 39 pass-rushing snaps and recorded five tackles resulting in a defensive stop, earning PFF grades above 75.0 both in run defense and as a pass-rusher."
If Ford continues to put it all together, and is as dominant as a pass rusher as he is against the run when the games start couting for real, it would go a long way towards Green Bay softening the blow of being without Micah Parsons for at least the season's first month.
