The Green Bay Packers are signing German-born kicker Lenny Krieg before the start of training camp, per Bill Huber of Packers on SI . Krieg, who has spent time with the Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets since joining the NFL in 2025, was among nine players who had a tryout with the Packers on Monday.
Krieg, who turns 24 years old in August, was with the Atlanta Falcons as an International Player Pathway on the practice squad in 2025. He attempted two field goals -- making a 57-yarder -- and connected on his lone extra point attempt during the preseason last August.
Huber suggests the Packers are keeping Lucas Havrisik , so a three-way competition is coming at kicker between Krieg, Havrisik and sixth-round pick (and assumed favorite) Trey Smack during training camp.
At the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, Krieg made all 14 of his field goal attempts -- leading to his chance with the Falcons. He previously played for the Berlin Eagles of the European Football League in 2022 and Stuggart Surge of the European League of Football in 2023 and 2024.
After spending the 2025 season on the practice squad of the Falcons, Krieg signed with the Jets in January and was with New York through June.
Krieg is eligible to be the team's International Player Pathway exemption, which would give the Packers an ability to carry 91 players on the offseason roster and 17 players on the practice squad during the regular season. Edge rusher Dante Barrett is currently the team's international exemption player.
