Packers' Zach Tom, Evan Williams appear to avoid long-term injuries

Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur said the team believes right tackle Zach Tom and safety Evan Williams avoided significant, long-term injuries after leaving Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos with knee injuries.

"Long term, I think we're going to be alright, but whether that's a week or two or three, I couldn't tell you," LaFleur said.

Tom exited in the second quarter after suffering an injury on Josh Jacobs ' touchdown catch. Williams left in the second half and didn't return.

Per Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel , Tom doesn't believe there is anything structurally wrong with his knee, while Williams said his knee injury doesn't feel worse than the injury that cost him four games in college.

Updates on Tom and Williams provide a sliver of good news after receiver Christian Watson suffered a chest injury that required scans at the local Denver hospital and defensive end Micah Parsons suffered what appears to be a season-end ACL tear.

However, it's hard to imagine Tom or Williams being available for the Packers next week in Chicago . LaFleur's team has a quick turnaround with a Saturday night game at Soldier Field. On Sunday, the Packers replaced Tom with Darian Kinnard at right tackle and Williams with special teamer Zayne Anderson at safety.

Tom, the team's best offensive lineman, has dealt with oblique and back injuries this season. Williams has emerged as one of the NFL's best young safeties as the starter opposite Xavier McKinney .
