- Padres manager dismissed concerns about Mason Miller tipping pitches in Game 2 NLDS loss
Every single MLB team has scouts and analysts who look to identify when a pitcher is tipping pitches. It's part of the game, and the Brewers showed on Sunday exactly why it's so beneficial.
But it doesn't sound like the Padres are too concerned about it.

The Brewers took a commanding 2-0 series lead in the NLDS against the Padres after Jackson Chourio hit a walk-off, two-run single off superstar closer Mason Miller. For as clutch as Chourio's hit was, his plate discipline was really something else.
He swung at every fastball in the zone and managed to hold off on a slider with two strikes. Fans noticed that Miller was likely tipping his pitches by how his hand was positioned in his glove. Sal Frelick also appeared to relay that observation from second base.
When asked about Miller tipping his pitches, Padres manager Craig Stammen dismissed the concerns.
He told reporters that the team has people who solely focus on both their own pitchers and the Brewers. And given how widely shared Miller's tipping was, it will almost certainly be addressed before Game 3.

But the Brewers only needed that edge once to take advantage in the series. They were able to pick up on the tipping before the Padres could fix it in the inning. And that could be the difference in the series.
