Terell Smith will have to wait to make his Pittsburgh Steelers debut for at least another week. The fourth-year cornerback, claimed from the Washington Commanders' practice squad earlier this month, is one of Mike McCarthy's inactives for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints in Paris.
Joining him is fellow cornerback Brandin Echols , who didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday while dealing with a hamstring injury.
Receiver Ben Skowronek (calf) won't suit up, and neither will running back Eli Heidenreich or quarterback Drew Allar , both rookies.
Will Howard will serve as the Steelers' emergency third quarterback, just as he had for the first six games this season.
Heidenreich again takes a backseat to fourth-year tailback Lew Nichols, who has provided depth behind Jaylen Warren and Rico Dowdle, stepping up while the latter has dealt with a toe injury. Dowdle popped up on the injury report with a knee issue earlier this week and was a limited participant during the team's two practices in Pittsburgh. Still, he's good to go for the matchup overseas.
Heidenreich, a local product who played his high school ball at Mt. Lebanon, hasn't played in a game for the Steelers since Week 2 in New England.
